As the Dropout Prevention Initiative is in its final stages at the Minnesota Department of Education, I thought I would share with everyone a document that outlines some of the insights gained through the course of the Initiative. Throughout the three years of the grant, a Steering Committee of professionals from youth-serving organizations across the state worked together to discuss and grapple with the issues of school completion and dropout prevention. The central charge of the Steering Committee was to develop a report of insights learned from the initiative and include recommendations for future Minnesota dropout prevention efforts. The report was presented to the Commissioner of Education in December, 2008. You can now find the report here:
